Step-by-step instructions for permanently deleting your Nasib account and understanding what happens to your data.

You Have Two Ways to Delete Your Account

You can delete your Nasib account either inside the app (fastest, recommended) or by submitting a deletion request through our website if you cannot access the app.

To delete your Nasib account, open the app and navigate to:

Settings > Account > Delete Account

Option B — Request Deletion Without the App

If you cannot access the app (for example, lost phone, account locked, or no longer have the app installed), you can request deletion through our online support form:

  1. Open our Contact Us form.
  2. In the Category dropdown, choose "Account Deletion".
  3. Fill in:
    • Your name (as on the Nasib account)
    • The phone number registered on your account, including country code (e.g., +961 71 …)
    • The reason for deletion (optional)
  4. Submit the form. Our trust & safety team will respond within 5 business days to verify your identity. Verification is done by sending a one-time code to the phone number on the account; you reply with the code via the same support thread to confirm.
  5. After verification, your account enters the same 30-day grace period described below. After 30 days, all personal data is permanently deleted as listed in What Happens Immediately and After 30 Days — Permanent Deletion.

This online request method is offered as required by the Google Play and Apple App Store account-deletion policies for users who cannot access their installed app. No email address is required — the contact form authenticates and routes your request internally.

The 5-Step Process

  1. Read Warnings: Review important information about what will happen to your account, data, matches, and subscriptions
  2. Select a Reason: Choose why you're leaving (6 options available)
  3. Optional Feedback: Share additional feedback to help us improve (optional)
  4. Type "DELETE" to Confirm: Type the word DELETE to confirm your decision
  5. Done: Your account deletion is initiated

What Happens Immediately

Once you confirm deletion, the following actions take place right away:

  • Profile removed from discovery — other users can no longer see you
  • All matches dissolved — other users are notified
  • Chat messages anonymized — your messages display as "[Deleted User]"
  • Active subscription expired — your Gold features are deactivated (but your App Store / Google Play subscription is not cancelled — see warning below)
  • Gift cashouts cancelled — any pending Njoum cashouts are cancelled
  • Whish wallet unlinked — your Whish Money wallet is disconnected
  • Dabke groups — you leave all groups (if you're an admin, the role is transferred)
  • Yalla events — your Yalla chat events are removed
  • All sessions ended — you're logged out of all devices
  • Push notifications stopped — device tokens are deactivated

30-Day Grace Period

After deletion, you have 30 days to change your mind:

  • To reactivate: Simply log back in with your phone number within 30 days
  • Dahab and Njoum balances are preserved during the grace period
  • Matches and conversations are already removed and cannot be recovered, even if you reactivate

After 30 Days — Permanent Deletion

If you do not reactivate within 30 days, the following happens permanently:

  • All photos are permanently deleted from our servers
  • All messages are permanently deleted
  • Personal information (phone number, email, all authentication IDs) is permanently erased
  • Subscription records, purchase history, and consumable balances are deleted
  • Account status is set to "purged" — this cannot be undone or recovered

Important Warnings

Subscription Not Cancelled Automatically

Deleting your Nasib account does NOT cancel your App Store or Google Play subscription. You will continue to be billed unless you cancel separately:

  • iOS: Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions > Nasib > Cancel
  • Android: Google Play > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions > Nasib > Cancel

Cash Out Njoum First

Cash out any eligible Njoum before deleting your account. Uncashed Njoum balances are forfeited after the 30-day grace period and cannot be recovered.

Matches and Conversations Are Immediate

Your matches and conversations are removed immediately upon deletion and cannot be recovered, even if you reactivate your account within the grace period.

Cancel Deletion

If you change your mind within 30 days, simply log back in with your phone number. Your account will be reactivated with your profile data and virtual currency balances intact — but matches and conversations will not be restored.
